Attorney with more than twenty years of experience in corporate, regulatory and healthcare law. His professional background combines a solid legal education with extensive operational knowledge of highly regulated sectors, particularly within the Argentine healthcare system (Social Security Health Insurance Funds – Obras Sociales, private health insurance companies, hospitals, and healthcare providers). He has developed his career leading legal and compliance teams in both public and private sector organizations, as well as in top-tier law firms.
His professional practice has focused on comprehensive advisory services in Health Law and Social Security Law, regulation of Obras Sociales and private health insurance entities, provider agreements, special coverage programs, and high-cost pharmaceutical benefits. He has taken part in complex negotiation and contractual structuring processes in the pharmaceutical and laboratory industries—including supply, distribution and coverage agreements—integrating regulatory compliance with corporate and business strategic considerations.
In recent years, he held senior leadership positions within the Legal Affairs Department of Grupo Unión Personal, one of the largest healthcare groups in Argentina, comprising five owned hospitals and a private health insurance company. From that role, he led contract management, institutional relations with health authorities, and the handling of regulatory contingencies. Previously, he served in executive positions within the Government of the City of Buenos Aires and in regulated companies in the telecommunications, energy and natural gas sectors, contributing a cross-sectional perspective on public policy and its interaction with private law.
Mr. Donati Mallea holds a law degree from the Universidad del Museo Social Argentino and is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association. He is fluent in English and actively participates in professional forums and networks specializing in corporate and healthcare law.
His current practice is focused on providing strategic legal counsel in healthcare regulation, compliance, corporate law, and strategic contracting, with an integrated approach to the legal, technical, and management aspects underpinning the sustainability of the healthcare system.
